Live Action Compositing
This section presents VFX compositing work focused on integrating CG elements into live-action footage, including projects involving keying, environment replacement, and visual enhancement. The work shown here explores how visual effects can be seamlessly blended into real footage while preserving realism and narrative consistency.
These projects emphasize clean keying, accurate color matching, light interaction, and visual continuity, ensuring that CG elements feel grounded within the original plate. The focus is always on supporting the scene and strengthening its visual storytelling.
01
CG Integration, Lighting Control & Projection
This project expands on previous compositing work with a focus on look development, lighting, and CG integration. The shot combines live-action footage with a CG lunar environment, featuring an astronaut traversing the scene.
Responsibilities included keying, rotoscoping, and camera tracking, along with the development of optical effects and grain. The CG environment was integrated using AOVs and light groups, achieving consistent lighting and a seamless final composite.
02
Advanced CG Integration & Look Development
Developed during a Rebelway compositing course, this project reflects a more advanced stage of my compositing workflow, with a strong focus on refined CG integration and visual polish. The work combines look development, keying, rotoscoping, matte painting, and CG integration, alongside sky replacement, atmospheric effects, lens treatments, and detailed grain management to achieve a cohesive, cinematic result.
03
CG Integration, Lighting Control & Projection
This project builds on previous compositing work, expanding both technical complexity and control over CG integration and lighting. Developed as part of a Rebelway course, it includes 3D camera tracking, rotoscoping, paint out, 3D projection, matte painting, and CG integration using AOVs and light groups, with sky replacement, lens effects, and grain management applied to ensure seamless integration.
04
2D Tracking, Keying & Environment Integration
Focused on further developing live-action compositing techniques, this project emphasizes precision in 2D tracking, rotoscoping, and keying. The work includes background integration, reflection replacement, atmospheric effects, and sky replacement, supported by look development to establish a cohesive visual style. Lens effects were used to unify the final image.
05
Core Compositing Techniques & Image Continuity
Developed as part of a Rebelway course, this project concentrates on strengthening core compositing workflows, particularly rotoscoping, keying, and background integration. Additional work includes reflection paint-out, added camera shake, atmospheric effects, sky replacement, and look development, reinforcing visual continuity through lens effects.
06
Foundational Keying & Compositing Workflow
This project was developed as part of a Rebelway course and represents one of my early explorations into keying and compositing in Nuke, including my first use of the IBK workflow. The focus was on establishing strong fundamentals in camera tracking, rotoscoping, and keying, along with background integration, lens effects, and grain removal and reapplication to ensure image consistency.
